Do the cozies of Agatha Christie ring your chimes? Is Stephen King’s horror to die for? Are you gripped by the thrillers of James Grippando? Perhaps you’re dying to write a mystery novel of any stripe or just hang out with those who do. Sisters in Crime, an international organization of mystery writers and readers, may be just what you’re looking for.
Our local chapter consists of a small, but dedicated group of women with a few men to spice things up. Our meetings are usually free and open to the public. They provide information about forensics, procedures and other aspects of law enforcement. Past speakers have included private investigators, police officers, gang task force reps and crime scene investigators. We’re also famous for our members-only potlucks.
Many members have published one or more mystery novels, and most have at least one story in the five anthologies of short fiction we’ve published in the last twelve years.
Meetings:
We’re a bit late out of the starting gate, but watch this space for exciting events in 2011, including the Central Coast Writer’s Conference, September 16-17, Central Coast Book & Author Festival, September 18.
